Marathi Raj Bhasha Divas Celebration

Our school celebrated Marathi Raj Bhasha Divas on February 25, 2016. Marathi Raj Bhasha Divas is celebrated in memory of the great Marathi poet, Vishnu Vaman Shirvadkar, popularly known as ‘Kusumagraj’, who was born on February 27, 1912.

Mrs. Snehal Patke spoke about the importance of Marathi Raj Bhasha Divas, sharing information about ‘Kusumagraj’. Students participated in the ‘Granth Dindi’ with enthusiasm.

Mrs. Manjiri Aradhye spoke about Marathi ‘Bal Geet’ written by various poets. Ishanya Rahurkar of Standard I B sang ‘Ganapati Bappa’, Ishika Jadhav of Standard II B sang ‘Sang Sang Bholanath’, and Disha Ghavane of Standard II B sang ‘Asava Sundar Chocolate Cha Bangla’.

Ms. Geeta Jadhav spoke about Marathi ‘Abhang’ and ‘Ovi’. Nilesh Kute Sir sang the abhang, ‘Nako Deva Raya’, and Mrs. Pranjali Kulkarni sang ‘Mana Vadhaya Vadhaya’, a composition of Saint Bahina Bai.

Ms. Shubhangi Tomke spoke about ‘Powada’, and a student of Standard IV D performed a ‘Powada’ on the life of Umabai Dabhade.

Mrs. Vinanti Parab spoke about ‘Nisarga Kavita’ or nature poetry. Tanvi Yadwadkar of Standard VIII B recited the poem ‘Shravan Megh’, and Tanaya Patil of Standard VII B recited the poem ‘Aala Ashwina Ashwina’.

Mrs. Sheetal Kute talked about ‘Deshbhakti Geet’. Ankita Badade, Khushi Agarwal and Sherya Khadtare presented a ‘Deshbhakti geet’.

The programme ended with the Marathi Abhiman Geet.
