Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed on July 26th every year in India. The day is dedicated to soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country during the Kargil war in 1999. On July 26, 1999, the Indian Army had announced the successful culmination of “Operation Vijay”, declaring victory after a nearly three-month long battle on the icy heights of Kargil in Ladakh.
Every year we celebrate this day in our school in the assembly with immense respect and pride. The information was prepared by our teacher, Mrs. Kavita Janba and was read by Sharvaree Pingle, student of Std. VIII.
On this important day, let us remember the courage and determination of our armed forces who steadfastly protected our country in 1999. Their courage continues to inspire generations.
