Harmony In Diversity – A Grand Spectacle Annual Day Celebration

Amrita Vidyalayam School in Nigdi, Pune, witnessed two days of unparalleled celebration during its Annual Day festivities on the 19th and 20th of January. The event brought together students, teachers, parents, and esteemed guests, creating an atmosphere of joy, learning, and cultural richness.

A Scholarly Inauguration – The inaugural day of the Annual Day celebration was graced by the presence of distinguished Prof. Avinash Kumbhar as the chief guest. The school was honoured to have notable guest K.V. Rajasekharan as well. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp at the Lotus feet of Amma, symbolizing the divine guiding light. Our Principal Madam eloquently presented the Annual Day report, highlighting the school’s achievements and milestones.

One of the highlights of the event was the prestigious prize distribution ceremony. Students who excelled in various fields, including academics (HSC and SSC), subject proficiency, all-round abilities, drawing, colouring, handwriting, and sportsmanship, were recognized and rewarded. The theme of the Annual Day celebration, “Mera Bharat Mahan,” resonated throughout the cultural performances. Students from LKG to 12th grade showcased their talents through a series of mesmerizing dances, each portraying a facet of India’s rich and diverse culture. Performances touched upon themes such as the present and future of India, sports, women empowerment, relationships, holistic health, saints, history, geography, science, industries, agriculture, and more.

Padma Bhushan Dr. Deepak Dhar graced the occasion as the chief guest on the second day. Bri Nayanamritha Chaitanya, Principal of Amrita Vidyalayam Baneshwar, and Bri Nischalamritha Chaitanya, Principal of Amrita Vidyalayam Hinjawadi, were the guests of honour. Their presence added a touch of grandeur to the festivities. The second day continued the cultural festivities, with students presenting captivating performances aligned with the theme. A particular highlight was the staging of dramas based on “Ramayana” and “Amma,” weaving tales of tradition and devotion.

In a heart-warming gesture, the dedicated educators of Amrita Vidyalayam took to the stage, forming the shape of AV with lamps in hand. This symbolic presentation emphasized the pivotal role teachers play in illuminating the path of knowledge and guiding students towards a brighter future. It was a moment of appreciation for the tireless efforts and commitment of the teaching staff.
