“In the light of the Guru’s lamp, we find the path of wisdom, gratitude and self-discovery.”
Guru Poornima, a significant Hindu festival, holds immense importance in the lives of students and spiritual seekers alike. It is a day dedicated to expressing gratitude and reverence towards the guru, the teacher or spiritual guide who enlightens our path. As the atmosphere filled with an air of anticipation, the celebration began with Swamini Pavanamritha Prana gracefully lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Yashree Acharya, a dedicated student from Std-VIII took the stage to share valuable insights into the significance of Guru Poornima. She enlightened the audience about the historical and spiritual context of the festival, emphasizing the importance of expressing gratitude towards one’s teachers and gurus.
Recognizing the invaluable role played by parents in the journey of education, a special segment of the celebration was dedicated to Matrupooja, the worship of the mother. Selected students accompanied by their parents were invited to participate in the sacred ritual. The ceremony involved the offering of flowers, incense and prayers to express reverence and gratitude towards the parents, who are the first and most important teachers in a child’s life.
The celebration continued with a mesmerizing performance by the talented girls from Std-VIII, who showcased their devotion and gratitude through a graceful classical dance, Guru Vandana.
The Guru Poornima celebration at our school was a vibrant tapestry of devotion, gratitude, and enlightenment. We carried within us the renewed determination to continue our journey of learning and growth under the guidance of our gurus.
