“Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening hearts.”
Christmas is for joy, for giving and sharing, for laughter and for coming together with family and friends. It is a time to gather with loved ones and exchange gifts, enjoy wonderful food and spend quality time together.
People celebrate Christmas Day to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Every year, people engage in Christmas Day celebrations by decorating their houses, putting up a Christmas tree and making delectable food to share with one another. On Christmas Eve, families usually hang up red stockings, sing Christmas carols, leave out milk and cookies near the fireplace or by the Christmas tree in the hope that Santa Claus would come and shower them with presents and blessings.
It was surely a Christmas to remember at Amrita Vidyalayam School & Jr. College. The school wore a festive look with bells, streamers, and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The children were told about the birth of Jesus Christ and the legend of Santa Claus through a speech delivered by Romir Ghosh of Std. VII. This was followed by a beautiful dance performed by students of classes V to VIII. The essence of Christmas came alive when Santa Claus came into the dance to perform. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was clearly visible on the faces of the children, especially when Santa Claus got into a dance performance with tiny tots, and also when he moved around distributing chocolates to them.
“Christmas Magic is silent – You don’t hear it,
You feel it, You know it, You believe it!”
