“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.” – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
Children’s Day in India is celebrated on 14th November every year on the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India. He was known for his immense love and affection for children. According to Nehruji, children are not only the epitome of innocence and purity, but also the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.
Children’s day was celebrated in Amrita Vidyalayam on November 14th with great fervour and enthusiasm. Information on Children’s Day was read by Kimaya Kadam of Std. III. Students of LKG to Std. VII performed an energetic dance. Our Principal Swamini Pavanamritha Prana wished the students a happy Children’s Day and motivated them with her kind words.
Amma says “Let us keep the child within us alive,” as a child never gets tired of hearing the birds sing or gets bored looking at flowers.
