“The Constitution is not a mere lawyers’ document, it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of Age.”
– Dr B.R. Ambedkar
The existence and successful survival of democracy in such diverse conditions is the most celebrated fact about our country, and the Constitution is its backbone. To reinforce the significance and importance of the Constitution, the Government of India declared 26th November as ‘Constitution Day’ through a gazette notification on November 19, 2015, in remembrance of the father of the Indian Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
The occasion was celebrated in the school assembly with solemnity. Bhavesh Choudhary gave a speech on our Constitution, taking us on a journey through its history up to the present day. This worthy speech was followed by an oath on the Preamble to the Constitution by the students. The assembly ground echoed with the words “We the people of India…”!
