India celebrates its 76th Independence Day as “Azadika Amrit Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 years of independence, and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. August 15, 2022 is a day of immense pride and joy for all Indians. On this day, we celebrate our heroes and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation to bring us freedom, peace and joy.
We at Amrita Vidyalayam celebrated the 76th Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm. The ceremony started at 8:30 am with the anchor, Janhavi Bhide miss welcoming our honourable principal Swamini Pavanamritha Prana and Brni Nischalamrita Chaitanya. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, Principal Madam unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sung the National Anthem expressing the joy of our freedom.
Arjun Dhamale of Std. X shared his views on the significance of this day in English and Simran Vachani of Std. X shared her views in Hindi. This was followed by the pledge in Hindi by Krutika Das of Std. VIII. Students from Std. VII and Std. VIII belonging to the school choir group sung the patriotic song “Balsagar Bharat Hovo” which awakened everyone’s patriotic feelings towards our Motherland. The Principal also addressed the gathering and gave an impressive speech on the importance of Independence Day.
The programmed concluded with a vote of thanks by Janhavi Miss. It was indeed a day of joy, a day of love and respect for our country, and we will make it a better place for us to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
