India’s festivals reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage. These festivals bring with them a wave of excitement, happiness and hope even in the most difficult times. Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister, which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions.
On August 11, 2022, the auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at Amrita Vidyalayam Pune. The celebration began with a speech on why and how Raksha Bandhan is celebrated. The information was prepared by Vinanti miss and read by Disha Pawar of Std. VIII. This was followed by a beautiful dance by students from Std. IV and Std. V which was choreographed by Komal miss and Rekha miss. Later, students from LKG To Std. X performed the ritual of tying Rakhi, with the girls tying rakhi on the wrists of the boys.
The event was celebrated with full enthusiasm and zeal. We believe that such celebrations of festivals with true spirit teach the students about our Indian traditions.
“The bond between a sister
And a brother, sometime tightly
Woven sometimes loosely held,
but never broken.”
