ANNUAL SPORTS DAY 2022-2023

Sport is life, you win you lose but the most important thing is the process in which you dissolve. Sports brings everyone together and through sports, we can create a healthy society and when we have a healthy society we will surely have a healthy state or healthy nation Sports is the celebration of the human spirit and youth, it not only inspires young minds but also teaches good values and ethics to young students.

Amrita Vidyalayam School & Jr. College celebrated its ‘Annual Sports Day’ 2022-23 on 23rd & 24th January 2023 amidst great enthusiasm and camaraderie. The chief guest invited on 23rd of January 2023 to the event was Dr. Umesh Shubhangi Pundalik Kankavilikar a Motivational Speaker, Our Principal Swamini Pavanamritha Prana, Bri. Nayanamritha Chaitanya Principal of Amrita Vidyalayam Baneshwar, Bri. Nischalamritha Chaitanya Principal of Amrita Vidyalayam Hinjawadi, Vice- Principal Mrs. Indulekha Jayashankar were present on the dias and a large gathering of parent with their children were present to witness the grand event.

The event has its grand opening by releasing the balloons by the chief guest and our principal, followed by the lighting of lamp in front of Amma’s photo. The principal greeted guests and dignitaries. A brief annual report on the school sports activities and student’s achievements. Torch bearer captain Riddhima Kulkarni followed by the sports students who have excelled in many events of sports. The event opened with a glorious and well synchronized March past with a contingent of one senior and primary wing that leaves parental viewers speechless and awed.

The chief guest Mr. Umesh Shubhangi Pundalik Kankavilikar addressed the students and parents by requesting them to have a library at every house whether it is big or small, so that the children will get encouragement to read books which will give them lots of knowledge. We had a prize distribution ceremony for SSC Toppers and subject Topper and also the ‘Best Sportsman Trophy’ in the secondary section.

The programme kick started with the magical group song ‘Khel Khiladi Khel’ sung by the students of class VI to IX. Followed by the Yoga demonstration which was presented by the students of class II to VIII. Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. Students of class VII presented an energetic performance demonstrating ‘Lathi Kathi’ which holds its root back in Indian History. It is a stick fighting martial art practiced in many countries. Students of class XI performed a scintillating performance of aerobics which teaches us how to live pro-actively in our day to day life. As we all know Egypt is famous for its pyramids. But we also have human pyramids, to prove this correct students of class IX presented a spectacles and an eye catching live human pyramid formation. The slogan of these students was ‘Team work makes the dream work, united we stand, divided we fall.’ Lezim is a folk dance form, from the state of Maharashtra in which dancers carry a small musical instrument with jingling cymbals, to showcase the folk form, students of class VIII performed a breath taking performance.

Games help us not only physically but also teaches so many other things like balancing the body, hand eye coordination etc.
It is not only that the games means only playing cricket, football, kabaddi etc. To prove this correct students of std-X showcased a marvelous performance which was beautifully executed. The conclusion of the performance was ‘Khelo India Khelo’ which means, if we play different games in our day to day life. It helps us making the future of India healthy & strong.
The sports meet came to an end with a vote of Thanks to the chief guest, dignitaries present on the dias and all the dear parents present here. The experience left a sweet impression among all.
