Shri Krishna Dhokale, Amrita Sports Climbing coach, led a successful mountaineering expedition to Mt. Elbrus (5621m), the highest peak in Europe.
The team of 9 mountaineers led by Sri Krishna Dhokale reached Russia on August 9th. On the 10th, 11th, and 12th, they practiced climbing in the surrounding valleys to acclimate themselves to the conditions there. The team began their ascent on August 13th. After overcoming many challenges, they finally reached the summit of Mt. Elbrus at noon on August 15th. They hoisted our National Flag at the summit and also put up the banner of our Amrita Vidyalayam.
