On 3rd and 4th September, our school conducted an exciting eco-friendly Ganesh idol making workshop for students from Std III to Std IX. The workshop was led by Mr. Fadnavis and Mr. Hake, who taught students the importance of using Shadu clay, an environmentally safe material. The focus was on creating beautiful Ganesh idols that would dissolve easily in water without harming the environment. Students were thrilled to learn how to mould the clay into different shapes, making their own unique idols under the guidance of the experts.
Throughout the workshop, students learned not only the art of sculpting, but also the importance of celebrating festivals in a way that respects nature. The use of Shadu clay emphasized the need to protect our rivers and ecosystems from pollution caused by plaster of Paris idols. The event was a huge success, and students left with a sense of accomplishment, proudly carrying home their handmade Ganesh idols, ready for an eco-friendly celebration this year.
