Savitribai Phule was the first female teacher, a modern feminist, and a social reformer of India. She had the revolutionary flame to carry forward women’s education for the upliftment of women in the field of education and literacy. She and her husband were comrades in arms in the struggle to educate women. Her birth anniversary is a significant day for all women in education today, as the fire was started by Krantiveer Savitribai Phule.
As it was the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule on 3rdJanuary 2023, we at Amrita Vidyalayam & Jr. College celebrated the day with the desired fervour. A speech about Savitribai Phule was read by Swara Patil of Std. VIII, followed by a skit depicting her life events presented by Avani Dhakrasand Saanvi Gaikwad of Std. V.
Women don’t need to find a voice, they have a voice,
They need to feel empowered to use it,
And people need to be encouraged to listen!
