Our school inaugurated the celebration of “Ramayana Masam” with a grand event, starting with the traditional lighting of the lamp by our Principal and Vice Principal. This auspicious beginning was followed by an insightful introduction to the significance of Ramayana Masam by Kala Miss, who explained the importance of this month in understanding the values and teachings of the Ramayana. The Principal then delivered a heartfelt speech, emphasizing the cultural and moral lessons embedded in the epic and how they remain relevant today.
The celebration will span from 16th July to 16th August, featuring daily readings of the key characters from the Ramayana. Each day, one important character, such as Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, and Dasharath, will be highlighted, with a detailed reading about their role and virtues. Accompanying these readings, a song related to the character will be sung, enhancing the atmosphere, and helping students connect emotionally with the stories.
Ramayana Masam was celebrated with a vibrant dance performance depicting the great epic Ramayana. Students from Std IV to VIII enthusiastically participated, bringing the characters of Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, and others to life through their graceful and expressive movements. The stage was transformed into scenes from the ancient tale, with colorful costumes and captivating choreography. Each performance beautifully illustrated the virtues and adventures of the characters, making the epic come alive for the audience. This month-long observance aims to instil the timeless values of the Ramayana in our students, fostering a deeper appreciation for our cultural heritage.
