National Mathematics Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at our school on December 22nd, featuring an enlightening presentation by Sushant Nemade, a bright student from Std VII. Sushant eloquently conveyed the significance of the day, emphasizing the role of mathematics in shaping our world. His insightful talk highlighted the contributions of the renowned Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, and encouraged students to embrace the beauty of mathematical concepts.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, our dedicated mathematics teachers organized a thrilling Maths Table competition for students from Std. V to Std. IX. The competition comprised three rounds, each testing the participants’ proficiency in reciting multiplication tables. The first round challenged students to swiftly recite tables from 6 to 20 within a minute, showcasing their mental arithmetic skills. The second round delved into more complex territory, requiring participants to recite tables with larger multiplicands. The final round, the pinnacle of the competition, tasked students with reciting tables from 6 to 25, pushing the boundaries of their mathematical prowess. The event not only celebrated the importance of mathematics, but also fostered a spirit of friendly competition and a love for numbers among the students.
