India’s 78th Independence Day Celebration at Our School

On the bright morning of August 15, 2024, our school celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Ex Subedar Major Santosh Wankhade Sir, along with Mrs. Vandana Wankhade. The celebration began with a warm welcome for the Chief Guest, followed by the traditional flag hoisting ceremony. As the tricolour unfurled, students and staff sang the National Anthem and Zenda Geet with pride. A solemn pledge in Hindi, led by Rutva Neve from Std IX, reinforced our commitment to the values of freedom and unity.

The event featured stirring speeches by Pranali Petkar and Manasvi Pawar of Std IX, who spoke eloquently in English and Marathi, respectively, about the significance of Independence Day. Our Chief Guest, Mr. Wankhade, delivered an inspiring address, sharing his experiences and urging students to uphold the values of our nation. The atmosphere was further energized by the melodious patriotic song by students of Std 8th to 10th, singing “रवीकिरणांच्या हिंदोळ्यावर अभिमानाने होवू स्वार..” The heartfelt lyrics echoed the pride and joy of freedom.

A vibrant dance performance by 40 students of Std 10th added colour to the celebration, as they performed to songs like “ऐ वतन वतन मेरे आबाद रहे तू”, “लेहरा दो and “कंधो से मिलते हैं कंधे,” which filled the air with a sense of unity and patriotism. The badging ceremony for the Head Girl, Head Boy, Prefects, and Vice-Prefects marked the beginning of new responsibilities for our students. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Shubhangi Kesari. The celebration ended on a high note as everyone joined together to sing “Vande Mataram,” leaving a lasting sense of pride and unity among all present.
