Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration – A Week of Joy and Devotion

Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the most beloved festivals in India, is celebrated with immense joy and devotion in our school. This year, on September 19th, 2023.

The festivities commenced with the Pranpratishta ceremony, an auspicious event where our principal, Swamini Pavanamritha Prana, presided over the installation of Shree Ganesh.

On the second day, Ananya Nike, a student of Std. 8, eloquently presented information about Ganesh Chaturthi in Marathi in the assembly. Throughout the week, the mornings started with a sense of spirituality as daily Ganesh Aarti and the chanting of Ganapati Atharvashirsh echoed through the school premises.

On September 20th, the girls of Std. 7, 8, and 9 graced the stage with a mesmerizing folk dance performance featuring the vibrant Lezim, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra.

Our school’s own Dhol Pathak took centre stage on September 21st, delivering an electrifying instrumental performance featuring the traditional Dhol, Tasha, and Zanj. The pulsating rhythms reverberated through the school, filling everyone with energy.

Three students from Std. 10 shared insights about Gauri Pooja in Marathi, shedding light on the significance of this ritual in the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

On September 23rd, students of Std. 8 enthralled the audience with a spirited Barchi folk dance performance. The pinnacle of our week-long celebration arrived on September 25th with a grand procession. Students from Std. 8 and 9 showcased their talents with performances featuring Lezim, Dhol Tasha, Barchi, and more. The teaching and non-teaching staff actively participated, emphasizing the unity and spirit of our school community.

In keeping with our commitment to the environment, our school conducted an eco-friendly Ganapati visarjan. The clay idol of Lord Ganesha was immersed within the school premises, ensuring that no harm was done to our natural surroundings. The week-long celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi at our school was a harmonious blend of tradition, culture, and devotion. As we bid farewell to Lord Ganesha for the year, we carry with us the lessons of faith, culture, and eco-consciousness that make our celebrations not only memorable, but also meaningful. Ganpati Bappa Morya!
