AYUDH’S TREE PLANTATION PROJECT

AYUDH, a social initiative by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, has been actively promoting environmental conservation through its various projects. One such project is the Arpan Project, which involves planting saplings in different parts of the country. On 9th October 2022, students of Std-XI participated in a tree plantation drive under the Arpan Project. The students were given a unique challenge to plant the same number of trees as the age of their spiritual leader, “Amma,” which is an incredible feat that highlights their commitment to the environment.

The primary objective of the tree plantation drive was to promote environmental conservation and create awareness about the importance of planting trees. The students were divided into groups, and each group was assigned a specific location for planting saplings. The students planted saplings of various indigenous tree like neem, banyan and peepal. The students were also shown how to plant the saplings correctly, including preparing the soil, digging the hole, and watering the sapling.

The tree plantation drive was a huge success, with the students planting the same number of trees as Amma’s age. They were highly motivated and enthusiastic throughout the drive, and their hard work paid off. The drive not only helped in increasing the green cover in the area, but also raised awareness about the importance of tree plantation.
